One day, before I was heading to Nepal, Prakriti came to me with an idea to donate blankets- blankets designed to treat shock and hypothermia, warms to a minimum 100°F/37.8°C in 10 minutes, and will maintain that minimum heat for 8 hours. The blanket has a foam core and is lightweight and comfortable. When we saw Ujjwal Dai giving blankets to some people on the street, we knew we wanted to do the same thing for others. So, I reached out to Ujjwal Dai in Nepal and handed all the blankets over to Manavsewa Ashram.

In Nepal, families who no longer want to take care of their parents will take them to a different town or village and ask them to sit down while they go to the bathroom or get food, then leave them behind. They do not know where they are, nor do they have any place to stay or food to eat, which is why Manavsewa Ashram has begun working in this program that allows volunteers to support people with Alzheimer’s/Dementia who have been left behind. Thank you Ujjwal Thapa Dai for coordinating this with us. If anyone is interested to help, please let me know.
